Distance Education Universities in India
Distance education has brought hope for so many students who were deprived of technical and higher education as existing technical institutions are very few and getting admission in them is very tough for an average student. There are three types of Distance Education Universities in India
- Open Universities provide education to students with no formal 10 + 2 qualification and are above the age of 18 years, through bachelor preparatory programmes. Method of imparting education remains same as distance education universities.
- Traditional Correspondence universities providing education through printed study material. They mostly conduct short term vocational courses.
- Distance education universities have minimum eligibility criteria for admission. They impart education through printed study materials, online support and personal contact classes through study centres.
Note All Distance education Universities are recognized by DEC (Distance Education Council) for the courses they offer. Students can refer to their notifications advertised on their respective websites. Authorised Study centres of these universities do not offer all courses of that university. Each study centre only provides courses for which it is authorized.
